The feeling of her cool hands against my wrist made me shiver and I looked beyond the shadow of our tree to see if the sun was still shining. It was. "That would suggest that the darkness needs light to survive." I thought of pulling my hand away, but she was grazing the underside of my arm with her manicured nails, and it was relaxing. UntitledShe felt as though she stood on the cusp of something terrible and beautiful. Something she could not control, and that frightened her. She did gasp back her breath as someone would who was standing on the edge of something so powerful; she held her breath. Waiting to release the air in her sympathetic lungs, waiting for a moment of control in all this chaos. She knew it would not come and so she breathed out reluctantly, grasping about her for something to hold onto as she became light-headed from the rush of air.Untitled
